Teams help with the organization of your colony. They provide autonomy and flexibility in managing various aspects of the organization, such as resources, fund management, distributed authority, decision-making, and control.
Additionally, you can filter by teams to focus on what’s most important, enhancing efficiency and clarity in your operations.
How to create a new team
Create a new action
Navigate to the left-hand menu bar and click the Create action button. This will open the action creation panel on the right-hand side. Select Create new team from the Action Type dropdown menu.
Enter Team details
Complete the details of the Create new team
action.
Give the action a title to describes the action you're about to take.
For example: "Creating the Sales team"
Enter a Team name for the new team you are creating. The can be anything to label what the team will be used for.
Enter a Team purpose to explain the team's purpose. This can help to easily align the purpose of the team for others.
Select a Team colour. This can help to easily identify the team in the UI.
Select how the action will be taken by selecting a Decision method.
Refer to What are Decision methods for more information.
You can also choose to enter in a Description for the action. Allowing you to provide more context to others why you are taking the action to create a new team.
Confirm details and Create team
If you are happy with all the details for the new team you can then click the Create team button to initiate the transactions.
After signing all the required transactions in your wallet, the action will be created and depending on the decision method chosen, the team will either be created, or the decision process will start.
Accessing your new team
Once you have successfully created your new team it will now be available on the Teams page, in team selection dropdowns for various actions, as well as accessible via the Team filter to allow you to filter by the team selected and focus only on the team.
Start using your new team
With your new team, you can now start to use it to perform actions within your colony. Such as:
Transfer funds: Allows you to send funds to and from the team.
Payments: To make payments from the team to people who you want to be apart of that team and have them earn reputation in that team.
Permissions: To give permissions to people who you want to give distributed authority to in that team.
